GM Handcrafted Coils - Alien Coils

These are hand-built alien coils from GM, supplied two to a container and intended for rebuildable atomisers, RDAs and RTAs. An alien is a clapton variant in which the outer wrap is made from a flattened, pre-wound wire, which gives the coil a ridged surface and a much larger surface area than a simple round-wire build. In practice that means more contact with the wick and a noticeably fuller flavour, at the cost of a slower ramp-up.

Two builds are offered here and they are aimed at very different setups. The MTL option is a single coil at 0.40 ohms, 2.0mm inner diameter, 5 to 6 wraps, with a 2x28g Kanthal core and a 38g Nichrome 80 outer wrap, suited to a mouth-to-lung atomiser at modest wattage. The Medium option is 3.0mm, 6 wraps, with a 2x26g Kanthal core, and reads 0.22 ohms as a dual-coil build or 0.44 ohms as a single, which is direct-lung territory. Resistances vary by roughly 0.2 ohms depending on how long you leave the coil legs when you trim them, so always check on an ohm reader before firing.
