DOVPO Clutch 21700 Mech Mod

The Clutch is a mechanical mod built around a single 21700 battery, made by DOVPO in collaboration with Signature Tips and the reviewer Mike Vapes. It uses a 510 connection and, being a mech, has no chipset: there is no wattage setting, no screen and no voltage regulation. The battery is connected directly to your atomiser when you press the fire button, and the power you get is whatever the cell can deliver at its current state of charge.

That is the thing to understand before buying one. A mech mod is only as safe as the person using it, because the device will not stop you building a coil whose resistance is too low for the battery, and it will not cut off if something shorts. It is intended for experienced users who can check a build on an ohm reader, understand a battery's continuous discharge rating, and inspect their cells and wraps regularly. If you are not comfortable doing all three, a regulated mod is the right purchase instead.

For someone who does want a mech, the appeal here is the format: a 21700 cell holds more capacity than the 18650 most mechs are built around, so run time between charges is longer, and the large fire button gives clear tactile feedback. The battery is not supplied — you will need to buy a suitable 21700 cell separately. In the box you get the mod, a screwdriver, two spare screws and a manual.
