AWT Black 21700 4800 mAh

A black-wrapped AWT 21700 flat-top cell, rated at 4800mAh with a maximum continuous discharge of 30A and 35A in pulse. It is sold singly or as a matched pair for dual-battery mods.

The 21700 format is the reason to consider this over an 18650. At 21mm across and 70mm long it is a few millimetres wider and longer, which buys a meaningfully larger capacity in the same class of device, so a mod that takes 21700 cells will usually run most of a day on one charge where an 18650 would need swapping by the afternoon. Many modern mods ship with an adapter sleeve so they can take either. Note the flat top: it will not work in devices that require a button top, so check your mod before ordering. Nominal voltage is 3.7V and a full charge is 4.2V, which is standard for lithium-ion and means any decent dedicated Li-ion charger will handle it. If you are running two, buy the pair and keep them together for charging, use and eventual replacement; mixing cells of different age or charge state in a series device is the usual cause of problems. Inspect the wrap before every use and replace any cell with a torn sleeve.
