Voopoo Drag X2 80W Mod Pod Kit

The Drag X2 is VOOPOO's external-battery pod mod, and the first of their devices built around the PnP X coil platform. It runs on a single 18650 cell, outputs up to 80W across a resistance range of 0.1 to 3.0 ohms, and takes a 5ml PnP X cartridge designed for direct-to-lung vaping. The body is zinc alloy with a leather panel, which is the main reason it feels heavier and more solid than the plastic pod kits at a similar price.

The removable battery is the point of the device, and it cuts both ways. In its favour: when the cell is flat you swap in a charged one and carry on, rather than waiting on a cable, and when the battery eventually degrades you replace a cell rather than the whole mod. Against it: the 18650 is not supplied, you will need a charger, and you need to keep the cell in a case rather than loose in a pocket. If you want something you simply plug in at night, an internal-battery kit is the easier choice.

The 5ml cartridge is generous for a pod of this size and the two standard coils — PnP X 0.15ohm and PnP X 0.3ohm — are both firmly in direct-to-lung territory, so this is not a device for high-strength salt nicotine. VOOPOO recommend 50 to 70% VG liquid at 10mg of nicotine or below, and that guidance is worth following: a 0.15ohm coil at 80W with strong salts would be extremely harsh.
