Vaporesso Armour Ultra Box Mod Kit 5500 mAh

The ARMOUR ULTRA is Vaporesso's rugged box mod kit, built around a 5500mAh internal battery. That capacity is the point of the device: it is close to what you would get from two 18650 cells, but in a sealed body you charge rather than a mod you carry spare batteries for. Vaporesso rates it at around three days of use on a single charge, and it is aimed at direct-to-lung vaping.

The other half of the specification is the protection rating, and it is unusually specific. IP68 covers dust and immersion, IP69K adds high-pressure and high-temperature water jets, and MIL-STD-810H with a 1.2 m drop rating covers the impact side. Most mods marketed as tough carry one of those; carrying all three is what separates this from a device with a rubberised case. If you work outdoors, on a site, or anywhere a mod gets dropped and rinsed rather than wiped, that is the reason to choose it over a lighter kit. The GTi coil platform used here runs a dual mesh design with widened airflow and a Boost Mode, which is what a 5500mAh cell is there to support — higher-power direct-lung vaping drains a battery quickly, and the capacity is sized for it. It is a large device, and that is the trade: nothing about it is pocketable in the way a pod kit is.
