The Catalyst 21700 by Purge Mods

The Catalyst is a mechanical tube mod from Purge Mods, built in Orlando for a single 21700 cell. It has no chipset, no screen and no protection circuitry: the switch connects the battery to the atomiser directly, and the output falls away as the cell drains. That is the whole appeal for the people who buy it, and also the reason it is not a device for anyone new to vaping.

The body tapers to 30mm at the top, so it sits flush with a 30mm RDA rather than leaving a lip, and the top cap is hybrid, meaning the atomiser's positive pin contacts the battery directly with no insulator between them. A hybrid connection only tolerates an atomiser with a protruding, insulated positive pin; fitted with the wrong atomiser it is a short circuit. The fire button is mounted on the side and is fully adjustable, which is what stops the play and rattle that a tube mod develops as the cell moves. Each unit is serialised and deep CNC engraved, and ships in a hard shell case with a certificate of authenticity.

This mod is intended for experienced users who build their own coils and understand battery safety, Ohm's law and the limits of the cell they are using. Batteries and atomiser are not included.
