The Aegis Hero is the built-in battery member of the Boost family: a 1200mAh pod mod with a maximum output of 45W, a 0.42-inch OLED readout and the same IP67 rating against water, dust and impact that the Aegis line is known for. The pod holds 4ml, fills from the top and has adjustable airflow, and it takes the G Coil Boost range.

Choosing between this and the Boost Plus really comes down to the battery. The Hero has its cell sealed in, so there is nothing to buy separately and nothing to charge externally, but when the battery eventually tires the device goes with it. In exchange it is noticeably slimmer in the hand. Both the 0.4ohm and 0.6ohm Boost coils are supplied in the box, along with a micro-USB charging cable. The 2ml version of the pod exists for markets with a capacity limit, but the 4ml is the one supplied here, which makes a real difference to how often you stop to refill during a working day.
