Kidney Puncher Nichrome 80 100ft Spool

Nichrome 80 is the wire builders reach for when Kanthal feels sluggish. It is 80% nickel and 20% chromium with no iron at all, and it has a noticeably lower resistance per unit length than Kanthal of the same gauge, so a coil built from it comes up to temperature faster. This is Kidney Puncher's 100ft spool of genuine Sandvik wire, smelted in Sweden and milled in the USA.

The absence of iron is the part people care about in practice. Some vapers report a metallic edge from Kanthal in the first few pulls of a fresh build, and iron is usually blamed for it; N80 sidesteps the question entirely and is generally described as the cleaner-tasting of the two. The trade-off is that it is softer than Kanthal, so it holds a compressed coil slightly less willingly and is easier to over-tighten. Like Kanthal it is a wattage-mode wire and should not be used in temperature control. The 100ft spool suits regular builders; 26GA gives a lower resistance per wrap and a slower ramp than 28GA.
