Coil Master DIY Kit Mini V2

The DIY Kit Mini V2 is the simplest kit Coil Master make: a compact set of the hand tools you need to build and maintain coils, without the wire, cotton and ohm reader the larger kits include. It is aimed at someone who already has consumables and wants a tidy, portable set of tools rather than a complete starting point.

The detail that makes it worth carrying is the multifunction screwdriver, which doubles as a coil winder. Four winding rods at 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5mm screw into the same handle, so one item does the job of a separate jig set and saves most of the bulk of a full kit. The rest is sensible: ceramic tweezers for pinching and adjusting a coil while it is firing without shorting it against your fingers, diagonal stainless tweezers, mini diagonal pliers for trimming leads, and folding scissors. The ABS case resists heat and corrosion and keeps everything in place. If you are building your first coil you will still need wire, cotton and a way of checking resistance, so the larger V3 kit is the better purchase; if you already build regularly and want a set for a bag or a second bench, this is the right size.
